Television of Art

idea for a new mobile TV format

Why is ?

An XXL mobile home that spontaneously stops in any city and, after a short set-up phase, invites passers-by to develop a concept for a "StartUp" company in real time, with pitch and group photo.

In a small team, a moderator tries to create a draft for a start-up company with citizens using the design thinking method, among other things. There is also an assistant who takes care of the whiteboard and notes down all the important ideas and topics of the group with keywords.

Another employee takes care of external communication on the notebook, i.e. social media. But real-time research can also be carried out during the broadcast.

As a Taffer employee, he can also take care of creating the gateway to the founding world, the much sought-after "pitch". The team photo is somewhere in between.

Who are the participants ?

Teenagers, young people, unemployed citizens, trainees, students, workers, employees, mothers, fathers, seniors, friends, best friends, buddies, colleagues, travelers, visitors, curious people, changemakers, adventurers. There are no guidelines, simply put: “everyone”. First come, first serve.

How is the process ?

A participant number can be drawn in the mobile home area. There is also a small information stand where employees provide information directly via “small talk” and issue tickets. As soon as the maximum number of participants has been reached, the employees will call everyone. They then have to show up at the mobile home within a specified time, or make themselves comfortable in the immediate vicinity. First thoughts and ideas can be exchanged here. In the meantime, every participant can already register on the extra online page.

Everyone can find out there what the goals are and what contractual matters need to be considered.

After everyone has found space in the mobile home and made themselves comfortable, everyone is given a clipboard with a pen to be able to take notes or write ideas during this extraordinary hour. Drinks and snacks are available. Everyone can use the integrated kitchen during the show. music in the background. The best music that has been proven to have a positive influence on everyone's creativity. Nothing is left to chance here.

The moderator briefly explains in a few sentences what the goal is. The aim of every show should be to design the concept in such a way that you can approach external service providers and then dive into the next phases there. Building a start-up consists of several parts. This is how you have created a team in a show and put a concept on paper.

The TV concept is intended to show strangers can create something together in a short time.

The program management and the editors can specify topics that should be specifically worked towards. Problems of all kinds, both from personal experience or from society, are a good focus to create a product or service from them. Ultimately, you can also work without specifications and the group of participants should speak freely and activate the creative spirit. There will be good rounds and bad rounds. Yet all somewhere interesting. We are all in a learning process, especially when encountering new doors.

After a while you will also be able to see how creative our citizens are today. While the group throws their ideas into the room, the employees will jot down the keywords on a white board and diligently moderate them.

As soon as there are good things from our point of view, or the program management sees that there is something interesting, you can let us know and we will then move one of the topics to the next phase.

Or ! Example No.1: The moderator starts with, where do you see problems in your environment ? Because problems are always good to look for solutions. A solution means a change, which can occur through a product or through a service. Of course also by a new law. Example No. 2: What bothers you about your electrical devices at home or those you have with you can be anything, TV, smartphone, headphones, toaster, vacuum cleaner, kettle just to name a few. Of course, software and app problems included. Example No. 3: What are you missing in your city, what are you annoyed about, what is missing in the shop. With a large number of answers, we can then systematically try to create something new that is not yet on the market.

After 10min -15min, the group decided on a topic with the instructions of the moderator and the program director. This is then developed more deeply after a short break for a few drinks, snacks and soft music in the background. In between, questions can be asked. So that everything works, the participant groups must not be too large. One of many Harvard studies was able to prove that 7-8 people are optimal. In addition, it will quickly become chaotic and confusing. The quality of the results also suffers. Small teams can come together more quickly to solve tasks. The second phase: Should already include the creation of the concept. There are then important questions such as Who can use the product or service? How much can something like that cost? How to build and realize it? Are there similar ideas already on the market? Ideas about the required capital can be exchanged! Which countries are suitable for production? What is the environmental balance of the service or product ? Who can fill which roles in the group ?

The XXL mobile home as the center of this mobile broadcast:

The artificial atmosphere that has to be created for it to work is important.

Even the exterior design of the mobile home covered with foil should captivate everyone and attract attention. A quick setup after the awning is extended, a small restricted area was set up, and seating, posters, exhibitors and outdoor monitors were set up and switched on with a trailer. Is the externally impressive concept already in place? They're doing something new here, so it has to be something special.

The mobile home needs an adjustment here, colors, style and comfort must not be neglected. Also drinks, snacks, Wifi hotspot access, music in the background.

Above all, the seating arrangement in the mobile home must be considered, all at a round table? Or wildly distributed over the available space? Mobile home that can be extended to the side so that a real living room feeling is created? You know the big XXL mobile homes from the wealthy showmen. Google showed the way, the Americans are pioneers when it comes to ensuring the best support for employees. A guarantee for good results.

How to broadcast and film:

You can choose several methods for this. Many cameras with microphones are installed in the mobile home in order to have as many viewing angles as possible for the cut afterwards. Today you can also make fantastic recordings with gimbels, DSLR cameras and smartphones. A few movies and the sequences they contain have already been made in this way. The viewer sees no difference. In addition, the equipment is comparatively inexpensive. Less staff and fewer costs also means more flexibility. You can contact the US film industry to find out what innovations there are so that employees can achieve the best results when recording and editing and at the same time have less time spent on post-processing.

One can be present on all channels with this format, Recording, PayTV, VOD, Live on

You Tube, tune in to radio shows, podcasts. A talk show with future intentions.

A live connection to a YouTube channel and a place in the mobile home with a laptop should enable interactive communication from the outside. One or the other knows it from the beginning of the Harald Schmidt Show, when his assistant would ask questions and read comments from viewers over the laptop. In this way, spectators can also participate in the development of the "StartUp". A redirection of the chat messages and filtering according to priority via the editorial team could be helpful here. Moderator and assistant are in connection with the program management.

So you can only switch a live version or a recording, the start of a season would be the beginning. A combination of both would also be conceivable.

The recording then also documents who was there and who is subsequently entitled to participate in the founding of the "StartUp".

After a program has been run or recorded, the TV broadcaster must contact external agencies that specialize in start-ups in order to take further steps. For example, a property right must be activated with a corresponding plan or sketch behind it.

Why could such a TV format be interesting:

The citizens, passers-by, people like you and me come into contact with the topic "StartUp" for the first time. You know shows like “The Lion's Den” but this is something new. Everyone can understand in a short time how something like this works. It is accessible to anyone watching the program on the day of the broadcast. It's going to be hot. Constructive spontaneous cooperation with citizens. It's colorful and real. Above all, it is new. Even if participants are not successful, you have experienced something and one or the other has liked the development process of a start-up company. That's positive. So it may be that 10 of 100 participants develop serious intentions to found a "StartUp". The famous "Aha" or "WoW" effect arises and the realization that founding a company is not that difficult takes effect. Here you should keep an eye on the statistics of the search engines at the beginning of the broadcast.

It must also be emphasized here that there does not have to be any complex casting. It is real, authentic, has character and ensures a high level of acceptance. In a well-planned world, just let it run and catch reactions. This whole script world where every second and the whole process is timed is a thing of the past. Live means action. In tune with the times.

In my opinion, such a program is very interesting overall for the economy, since every successful start-up also creates new jobs and promotes Germany as a location for innovation. The banks in Europe are sitting on a lot of subsidies that have to be invested sustainably. With a cooperation between various TV broadcasters or investors around the media group, financing and lending should herald the next step. Of course, private investors can also participate in the ideas of the individual teams.

Crowdfunding is just one of many concepts. There is enough money in the accounts, but it has no use. Of course, with the number of programs, the probability increases that we will discover a "UNiCORN" together, which will be particularly successful, the start-up scene speaks of 1-2 UNiCORNs for every hundred start-ups. But even beyond the borders, this can leave an interesting footprint in Europe, Made in Germany. Especially young people who do not go to university can see and understand in a short time that there are reasons for everyone. We are experiencing upheaval in many areas, climate change and protection, as well as the change in the world of work, e.g. flexible home office, digitization with artificial intelligence and machine learning are starting points.

It's an interesting way to meet people on the street with something new. Come join us and with a bit of luck and the right idea you will be your own boss. It's a nice overall concept. Such formats from the tech sector are also interesting for the advertising industry of the global players if the ratings are right.

The spontaneity will bring the show to a successful TV format and beyond national borders.

What could the format be called ?

"The future stops in your city". “Be there and develop a start-up” “The future begins now”

Are there already similar formats that deal with start-up foundations:

There are, however, these programs deal with completely different phases in the development of a start-up company. In addition, all programs are recorded here in fixed studios. The location and cities are fixed. The preparations for these programs are much more time-consuming.

What happens after the broadcast ?

Every successful team that has developed a comprehensible and sustainable concept and is assessed as feasible or as expandable by experienced experts from the scene receives a "Go". Afterwards, the founding teams are accompanied by mobile camera teams at important appointments or events, so the viewers can experience everything else and experience the actual phases of founding a company, also known as "StartUp".

What about intellectual property rights and patent application issues for live broadcasts ?

The theft of ideas is not protected today as long as there are no applications at the patent office that represent exactly this idea, invention, product, business idea or service.

It is precisely at this point that a new law must be created, it is intended to protect all ideas that have arisen in the live broadcast for a manageable period of 4 weeks to 3 months after transmission. Applications submitted after a broadcast by third parties that are not related to the production cannot be accepted.

How to improve the show ?

After a few test programs have been recorded with extras, you can be coached by selected experts from the start-up scene and add new tips for the program. Explore strengths and weaknesses. The once roughly defined program can thus be refined in cooperation. A rough “We'll do it somehow, becomes its own program with a system. A small architecture hides behind everything. In the end, it's always the result that counts, no matter how it was gone.

I estimate that this format will take 3-9 months to prepare.

Other about the participants:

All participants of each program are contractually entitled to co-found the "StartUp" and to build it up actively or passively. The organizers and Me, among others, will continue to support the participants in an advisory capacity after the successful creation of a concept for a startup. In addition, it must be clarified whether all participants, including assistants and employees of the show, have a claim to success through creative participation in the development process of the StartUP show.

Why this show can be important in Europe !

After a period of time, statistics will reveal which countries and regions have particularly strong ingenuity. Of course you can already prove today where many start-ups are created, but the circumstances are different. It can also be used to show which age groups and which nationalities are particularly important in international teams. It's a challenge, some countries have always been a touch better in terms of projects. Partners and investors can thus prioritize countries and cities for their investments after 2 years. The results can also flow into the creation of new creative teams in companies. Such a show can be a success in many ways.

At the end of a show or in the middle of it, pizza is ordered for everyone, food makes us happy and connects us all. Right...
